New Year was mellow.
Started new session of classes at A.C.T., voice exercises and a singing master class. So far I was assigned, "Nobody Makes a Pass at Me" from the only musical ever commissioned by a labor union (1938 or so). I found a cover of it by Streisand. Next will be some songs from The Secret Garden.
Saw a crazy MUNI moment http://www.flickr.com/photos/palgus
And if you are logged in and my "friend" you can also see the giantly enormous bruise I got falling out of a MUNI bus the other week in the rain.
Had gum grafts #2 a week and a half ago. It's uncomfortable. I have new gums now though. I really hate having stitches in my mouth. When they start to fall out it feels like I have mouth whiskers. And they never fall out of me, they never do, they just stay in there until someone removes them.
Just finished reading Waterland by Graham Swift. It's about an obsolete man and his obsolete profession and his obsolete childhood in an obsolete land, and so really, it's about his obsolete life.
Started new book on Pigeons. Learned about the decorated war hero pigeon Cher Ami, and the Parlor Roller variety of pigeon that will roll backwards, possibly indefinitely unless obstructed. I don't think it's going to be as good as the book on Rats.
New health kick: whole grains. Quinoa, brown rice, steel cut oats. Maybe I can add in some other weird grains, but this seems like enough for now.
