Dress Up

There was a lot of dressing up goin' on during my childhood. Perhaps a precurser to my future days of theatre and dance major? Who knows. Mostly I did it because it was fun. And it was another opportunity to wear a hat.

When you put on dress up cloths, you get to be somebody else for a while. Someone you read about, or someone you saw when you were watching all those hours of brain-deadening T.V., or someone you just made up by yourself.

Maybe you run the orphanage where your brother is playing the orphan, who gets adopted by the kind lady you change hats to play. Or maybe you're the fancy woman buying everything up in a big department store, who carries her cat with her everywhere she goes.

Or maybe you get to be the mom, and make your own descisions for a little bit.

Really, you can be anything you want. And sometimes, you can do that in real life too.
